A slow-maturing, independent and intelligent cat with a thick double coat and frontal ruff. The Cat Fanciers' Association says grooming needs are minimal, with regular combing and extra attention in spring when the winter coat is shed. It is moderately active and gets along well with other cats, dogs and children.
