How many days should my dog attend?

We recommend no more than two to three days a week, on set and consistent days, with at least one full rest day in between visits. Group play is a big mental and physical workout, and it can take up to 72 hours for a dog's stress hormones to settle back to baseline after an exciting day - a "hangover day" at home helps them properly decompress. Set days also mean we can pair your dog with the same familiar faces each week, so their social group stays predictable and settled.

What happens in a day?

Once your dog is settled in, their day runs across our purpose-built zones - a nap room, a scent and enrichment space, and a free play yard - with a set rotation between them to help dogs regulate their energy and settle faster. Our Enrich Space gets a new sensory theme each month for them to explore, alongside our usual rotating program of free play, training, and rest, plus themed weeks with extra activities thrown in.

Do I need to bring food?

If your dog has food allergies or intolerances, make sure to bring some treats along in a clearly labelled container and just let us know at drop-off and we'll pop a red bandana on them so every staff member knows to use their own treats from home.  For our decompression part of the day, if they have a favourite long-lasting treat or chew, feel free to send it along with them.

To keep you in the loop on how your dog's going, we use a simple Green, Orange, Red report card system covering things like how they're doing in their social groups, how much they value different food toys, and their progress on the core skills we work on each day. You're always welcome to request a full progress report too, if you'd like a more detailed check-in.

Female puppies are welcome until their first heat, and males until signs of puberty. From there we assess it day by day, and we'll let you know if it's time for a short break until they're desexed. This is to ensure your dogs health and behaviour is always considered long term.

Daycare provides a great social outlet for most dogs, but to ensure their interactions outside of daycare remain positive, we want to remind you that teaching indifference around other dogs is just as valuable a life skill as being social.

Not allowing your dog to greet every dog outside of daycare freely, can help your dog learn impulse control and reduce leash aggression.

On drop-off, we ask that dogs arrive calm and settled rather than straight from the car in full excitement mode. If your dog comes in full of beans, give them a moment outside to settle and listen to their cues before heading in and sitting at doors before proceeding; if they're a little unsure or slow to warm up, let them sniff around and come in at their own pace rather than rushing them, lower the criteria- there is no need for a sit. Either way, it's about setting them up to start the day feeling confident, not stressed.
